When a customer requests to book a charter, captains will get a text and e-mail notification indicating the date and trip type that the client is looking to reserve. In addition, the customer will have the option to message their captain informing them of any additional details for their desired fishing trip. Upon receiving the request to reserve, the captain will have the option of either confirming or denying the trip. It is important to note that if the captain does not respond to the booking request within 2 days, the customer will be notified that reservation is denied.
Reel Guides has an instant message service through the website portal allowing for direct communication between the customer and captain. Information such as expected weather conditions, marina location, and any additional details can be communicated through this feature. All communication is monitored by our Reel Guides team ensuring that our policies and standards are followed.

Great question! You’ll receive the payment directly from the customer upon completion of the charter. Upon booking, the customer will pay a 15% deposit to Reel Guides to reserve the charter. The remaining balance will be paid directly to you.

We know that bad weather is inevitable. If the weather does not allow for safe fishing conditions, it may be necessary for your captain to cancel a scheduled trip. If the captain deems cancellation as necessary, Reel Guides will refund the customer in full or credit the client for a future fishing trip.  
After booking a fishing trip, customers are able to modify or cancel a reservation up to 72 hours before the trip start time free of charge. If cancellations are made after the 72-hour grace period or if you fail to show up for the reserved trip, your deposit will be fully retained by Reel Guides.
